Curriculum Structure by Grade Bands

The Muslim Legacy Series curriculum is intentionally designed to grow with students' development, intellectually and spiritually, across four grade bands.

Pre-K to Grade 2 — Foundations of Identity and Belonging

Early learning focuses on building a warm, positive connection to Islam through stories, routines, and everyday practice. Lessons emphasize Islamic identity, fundamental beliefs, good manners (adab), and age-appropriate moral awareness, helping children develop a sense of belonging and trust.

Grades 3 to 5 — Understanding and Application

Students engage more deeply with core Islamic concepts through structured storytelling, guided discussion, and short written reflection. Lessons introduce prophetic narratives, foundational beliefs, and historical context while emphasizing understanding, personal meaning, and connection to daily life.

Grades 6 to 8 — Reflection, Responsibility, and Identity

Instruction expands to include deeper engagement with beliefs, practices, and Islamic history. Students are encouraged to think critically, reflect on ethical choices, and take increasing responsibility for their learning, supporting the development of a confident and thoughtful Muslim identity.

Grades 9 to 12 — Analysis, Ethics, and Engagement

High school students explore Islamic thought, history, ethics, and contemporary issues through discussion, analysis, and applied reasoning. The curriculum prepares students for informed citizenship, moral decision-making, and lifelong engagement with their faith in a modern world.

Across all grade bands, instruction is delivered through a consistent set of core subject areas, adapted in depth and complexity for each developmental stage.

Core Curriculum Subjects

Qur’an Studies
Students develop a meaningful relationship with the Qur’an through recitation (tajwīd), memorization, comprehension, and reflection. Instruction progresses from sound recognition and short sūrahs in early grades to deeper understanding and application in upper grades.

Seerah & Islamic History
Students study the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the development of Islamic civilizations through a structured historical lens. Lessons emphasize moral leadership, cause-and-effect thinking, and connections to contemporary Muslim identity.

Aqīdah & Worship

Character & Life Skills (Adab)
Ethics, manners, and decision-making are woven throughout the curriculum. Students are guided to apply Islamic values thoughtfully and responsibly in everyday situations.

What Makes the Muslim Legacy Series Different

The Muslim Legacy Series is designed for modern Islamic classrooms—balancing depth, clarity, and real-world relevance. It offers a structured, coherent alternative to fragmented or overly simplified curricula, supporting strong teaching practice and authentic Islamic grounding.

Structured, Age-Appropriate Progression

Each grade is designed with clear learning goals, logical progression, and age-appropriate depth, allowing students to build understanding consistently year over year.

Depth Over Volume

Rather than covering topics superficially, the curriculum emphasizes meaningful engagement, reflection, and discussion, helping students connect Islamic knowledge to identity, ethics, and daily life. Content is developed for Muslim students growing up in Western societies, addressing real-world challenges with clarity and authenticity.

Teacher-Friendly by Design

Lessons are written so both experienced educators and volunteers can teach with confidence. Clear objectives, pacing guidance, and built-in scaffolding reduce preparation time. Lessons fit within real class periods, making pacing predictable for both full-time schools and weekend programs.

Curriculum Components

Each grade in the Muslim Legacy Series includes a coordinated set of materials designed to function as a complete instructional system, supporting students, teachers, and administrators with clarity, consistency, and ease of implementation.

Each grade includes a coordinated set of materials comprising a student textbook, a teacher’s manual, and a student workbook with guided activities. Assessment tools and instructional guidance are embedded directly within the teacher materials, allowing educators to evaluate understanding and track progress without the need for separate testing systems.

What Schools Receive

Schools receive a complete, grade-level instructional package designed for immediate classroom use, with coordinated materials that support students, teachers, and administrators.

Lessons are designed to fit within one standard class period and are supported by clear objectives, structured content, and guided activities. Teacher Manuals are written so that both experienced educators and substitute or volunteer teachers can confidently deliver lessons with minimal preparation, ensuring consistency without rigidity.

Adoption & Implementation Model

Full Curriculum Adoption

Schools implement the complete Muslim Legacy Series curriculum across all grade levels and subject areas.
This model is ideal for full-time Islamic schools and accredited programs seeking a vertically aligned, long-term Islamic Studies framework with continuity across grade levels.

Subject-Based Adoption

Schools may adopt individual subjects—such as Qur’an Studies, Seerah, Islamic History, or Character Education, based on instructional priorities or staffing availability.

This approach works well for schools strengthening specific subject areas, transitioning from an existing curriculum, or introducing supplemental enrichment tracks within their current program.

Grade-Level or Pilot Adoption

Schools may begin with select grade levels as a pilot before expanding to additional grades. This allows teachers and administrators to evaluate classroom fit, pacing, and student engagement.

This option is well-suited for schools exploring curriculum upgrades, launching new programs, or implementing phased adoption plans before expanding to additional grades.

Weekend & Supplemental Programs

The curriculum is fully compatible with weekend schools, homeschool programs, and after-school settings. Lessons are designed to fit a single instructional period and can be taught independently without loss of continuity.

This model is designed for weekend Islamic schools, community education programs, and homeschool cooperatives that require flexible, standalone lessons without sacrificing curricular coherence.

Assessment & Progress Tracking

The Muslim Legacy Series emphasizes meaningful learning over high-pressure testing.

Student progress is tracked through clear lesson goals, guided reflection, discussion, and practical application—allowing teachers to see understanding develop naturally over time.

Assessment is integrated naturally into daily instruction through observation of participation, student discussions and reflections, application-based activities, and teacher notes embedded directly in lesson plans.

This approach allows schools to document student growth while maintaining a calm, supportive classroom environment that prioritizes understanding, character development, and confidence.
